What are overlays?
Overlays change how the range grid displays information. Instead of always showing action colors, you can switch to views that highlight EV values, frequency distributions, training heatmaps, or differences between ranges.
Switch overlays using the overlay dropdown in the toolbar above the grid.
Available overlays
Actions overlay (default)
The standard view. Each cell is colored according to its assigned action(s). Mixed-action cells show proportional color segments.
This is the view you use for editing and building ranges.
EV overlay
Displays the expected value of each hand, imported from solver data. Cells are colored on a gradient from low EV (cool colors) to high EV (warm colors).
Use this to see which hands are the most profitable in a given spot and to understand the EV difference between actions.
EV data is only available for spots that were imported from solvers that include EV output (like PioSolver).
Frequency overlay
Shows a table view of the frequency percentages for each cell. Instead of colors, you see the numerical frequency of the active action on each hand.
This is useful for studying exact solver frequencies and identifying which hands are close to 50/50 mixed decisions.
Heatmap overlay
Colors cells based on your training accuracy for each hand. The heatmap uses a gradient:

Diff overlay
Available in compare mode. Highlights differences between two ranges at the cell level.
Switching overlays
- Click the overlay dropdown in the toolbar.
- Select the overlay you want.
- The grid updates immediately.
You can switch overlays at any time without affecting your range data. Overlays are view-only — they change how information is displayed, not the underlying data.
