How spaced repetition works during training

When you train using a study plan, RangeSharp uses spaced repetition to decide which spots to prioritize. Spots that are due for review appear more often than spots you’ve recently mastered.

Due cards

Each spot has a spaced repetition card that tracks:
  • When you last reviewed it
  • How well you performed
  • When the next review is due
When a spot’s review date arrives, it becomes a due card. Due cards get priority in your training sessions.

How training updates the schedule

After each training session, RangeSharp updates the spaced repetition card for every spot you practiced:
Your performanceWhat happens
High accuracy (90%+)Next review is pushed further out (longer interval)
Medium accuracy (70–89%)Next review stays at a moderate interval
Low accuracy (below 70%)Next review is scheduled sooner (shorter interval)
This means spots you struggle with come up more frequently, while spots you’ve mastered fade into the background.

Viewing your due cards

On the Home dashboard

The Today’s Focus card on your Home dashboard shows spots that are due for review today. This is the best place to see what needs your attention.

In the Train section

When you open a study plan, spots that are due for review are marked. The training engine prioritizes these spots when you start a session.

Training without spaced repetition

If you prefer to train without spaced repetition (for example, to drill a specific spot repeatedly), use Quick Train from the Study workspace. Quick train on a single spot isn’t constrained by the spaced repetition schedule — you can practice any spot as many times as you want.

Tips for using spaced repetition effectively

Don’t ignore due cards. The spaced repetition system is most effective when you review spots on schedule. Letting due cards pile up defeats the purpose — you’ll start forgetting ranges you worked hard to learn.
  • Train daily — Even 10 minutes per day keeps your spaced repetition schedule on track
  • Start with due cards — Open your Home dashboard, check Today’s Focus, and train those spots first
  • Trust the intervals — If a spot isn’t coming up, it means the system thinks you know it well. That’s a good thing.
  • Watch your mastery levels — As spots move from level 0 to level 4, the intervals between reviews grow longer
